How do I get the images from my digital still camera onto an MCAD lab computer or MCAD Student MacBook Pro?

  1. If you shot on SD or CF cards, you will need a portable card reader to transfer your data to a computer. These can be checked out from the Media Center if you do not own one. Insert the card reader's USB cable into the computer's USB port, and insert your card into the card reader.
  2. The card icon will appear under "Devices" in Finder. Select the icon and navigate to your images. Drag and drop your image files to another drive such as Temp_Storage (labs), Macintosh HD (laptops) or an external drive.
  3. When finished, drag the disk icon on the desktop to the Trash to safely eject it. Verify the disk is ejected before removing the card or card reader.
