MCAD Recycling Policy

MCAD ITS upgrades school-owned workstations and laptops on a 3-4 year replacement cycle depending on academic and administrative work responsibilities. We do NOT automatically resell used computers back to staff and faculty. After old hardware is collected, inventoried and initial testing performed, the majority of hardware will be properly recycled by an external processor. From time-to-time, most likely in late summer or early fall, there may be computer equipment available for MCAD employees to purchase for personal use. Sales will be determined based on a lottery of requests. Some equipment may also be donated to local arts-focused or other appropriate non-profit organizations Used equipment purchased will become the full responsibility of the new owner. MCAD will provide no supplemental software or hardware support outside of a base OS install. If you have any questions regarding this process, please email helpdesk@mcad.edu for assistance.
