Flu Clinic

Once again MCAD will be hosting a flu clinic on September 19th from 2:00pm -6:00 pm in the Main Building room #240 the Student Center. Students, faculty, staff and family members are welcome to attend. It is my hope that we will fill all the time slots. If we do fill up the schedule, please let me know. We will make every effort to have you receive a shot.
Note: MCAD does not pay for the shots. The Minnesota Visiting Nurses Association (MVNA) in conjunction Hennepin Healthcare System, Inc. will bill any insurance provider for shots.You will need to have insurance information available when you come to the clinic. Most insurance plans cover the cost of this prevention. Please read the remaining information and schedule your flu shot using the URL listed below. 2018 Flu Vaccines

What you need to know:



Protects against four flu strains (two A Strains and two B Strains)

Inactivated (dead flu virus)

Ages 6 months and up


Quadrivalent Flu Strains covered for the 2018-2019 season:

A/Michigan/45/2015 (H1N1)pdm09-like virus

A/Singapore/INFIMH-16-0019/2016 (H3N2)-like virusa

B/Colorado/06/2017-like virus (B/Victoria/2/87 lineage)a; and

B/Phuket/3073/2013-like virus (B/Yamagata/16/88 lineage)


HIGH DOSE (Must Request) $65 - Ages 65 & older only

Protects against three flu strains (two A strains and one B strain)

A/Michigan/45/2015 (H1N1)pdm09-like virus

A/Singapore/INFIMH-16-0019/2016 (H3N2)-like virus a

B/Colorado/06/2017-like virus of the B/Victoria-lineage

This option provides four times the antigens of a regular flu shot which helps to boost the immune response

Developed specifically for older adults who are at greater risk of severe illness associated with influenza


  • HCMC/MVNA is able to bill any insurance provider. However, it is the responsibility of the participants to confirm their coverage with their provider.
  • If you have questions or changes, please connect with the Occupational Safety and Health Coordinator at MCAD.


Employee Instructions: Make an Appointment


  • Select “Login/Create Account”to create your username and password
  • Select the location and date you will be attending
  • A list of available times will appearàSelect aclinictime
  • Your appointment details will be listed. If everythingis correct, select “Confirm Your Appointment.”
  • You will receive an appointment confirmation via email according to the timeline you select. You may add, change or cancel this appointment up until 1 hour before theclinic.
  • Scheduling more than one person:Select number of appointments needed from the “Select Number of Participants” field at the top left corner. (For example, if you are signing up your family for a block of appointments.)
To speedup up your time, please make a copy of the attached registration form and fill it out before you come.
