Dear Members of the MCAD Community,
Thank you for attending today’s gathering in Auditorium 150 about current Title IX investigations. We appreciate the open and respectful conversation that took place. We plan to continue this necessary dialogue and to identify areas for improvement, clarify the process, and improve transparency where it is possible.
As mentioned today, we strongly encourage students to report offenses. All reports should be brought to the attention of the Vice President of Student Affairs Jen Zuccola or Director of Human Resources Autumn Amadou-Blegen. MCAD treats sexual misconduct and violence with the utmost seriousness. In accordance with Title IX of the Educational Amendments of 1972, this policy informs the college’s process for responding to such situations.
These conversations are challenging and can be triggering. We want to make sure that you are aware of the resources available here at MCAD, as well as off campus. The college provides free confidential counseling services on campus during fall and spring semesters for students, and off campus resources in the community are available for all via these support services.
The thoughtful and constructive feedback heard today will serve as the basis for improvements. Opportunities to further engage in this conversation will be shared prior to the next semester.
